Connect with fun and purpose.

Our Intermediate ministry includes a mid-week Junior Youth Group for years 6-8 held on Friday 3:30-5pm (doors open 3pm) during the school term and our Sunday morning programme. The focus of these sessions is to connect young people with one another, to learn as we study the Bible together, and to help young people develop their skills and passions. Building strong and authentic relationships is at the centre of our approach.

Junior Youth Group
RCC’s Junior Youth Group meets every Friday (during term time) between 3:30-5pm (door open 3pm) at the Church hall. Each week we play games, build friendships, share kai, and one of our leaders shares a message from the Bible.
Junior Youth Group is based at the Riccarton Community Church (44 Elizabeth Street). We also head out on trips and camps during the year.
Junior Youth Group is run by a fantastic team of positive role models coordinated by JC. -
Sundays
On a Sunday morning, we offer a programme specifically tailored to Years 7-8 that begins after the introductory part of the church service. We combine activities and games with Bible teaching and discussions that cater to the pre-teen life stage.

Intermediate Youth Band
For those intermediate aged young people who are passionate about getting involved in music, RCC has a Youth Band that practices regularly and performs at church at various times during the year. If you’re interested in being involved, speak to your Youth Leader to find out more.

Social Events and Camps
As part of our programme for Years 6-8, we offer weekend social events each term and camps throughout the year. These are great for relationship-building and enjoying fun experiences together as a wider group.

In Our Local Schools
RYC also has a presence in a number of Intermediate schools in the area (including Wharenui Primary and Kirkwood Intermediate) through the 24/7 YouthWork programme. This provides yet another way in which we can get alongside young people in their school environment and provide support, encouragement and a listening ear.
