Connect with belonging and identity.
Youth Group is a large supportive community offering a range of programmes, events and opportunities specifically catering to High School aged young people. The key to our approach is the focus we put on strong, intentional relationship-building. Our Small Group Leaders commit to their group of young people through the five years of High School and this continuity of care is vital to helping each person to thrive and feel genuinely connected. We believe in developing young people as leaders to make a difference in their world.

Friday Nights
Every Friday night (during term time) between 7-9pm, Youth Group meets at the Church Hall to play games, study the Bible, have small group discussions and enjoy a great supper together. Everyone is welcome and transport is available.
-
Social Events and Camps
We also have regular social events and camps that provide additional opportunities for fun, connection and faith-building. These are scheduled throughout the year and provide a relaxed environment where everyone gets to know each other more and shares great experiences, often in conjunction with other Youth Groups throughout the city.
-
Youth Band
RCC has a dedicated Youth Band that practices regularly and often has opportunities to perform at various church services and gatherings. If you’re passionate about music and worship and are interested in being involved, speak to your Youth Leader to find out more.
-
In Our Local Schools
RCC also has a presence in Christchurch Boys High School and Riccarton High School through the 24/7 Youth Work programme. This provides yet another way in which we can get alongside young people in their school environment and provide support, encouragement and a listening ear.

Developing Young Leaders
Developing our young people as leaders who will make a difference is important to us. Grassroots is a two-year course where young people are exposed to a variety of leadership experiences and are trained and mentored.
