Privacy Statement

We will often collect, or request to collect, personal information from you, including:

  • Your name
  • Contact information
  • Notes regarding your participation in and contribution to our activities
  • Police checks and references for volunteers working with children

We collect your personal information in order to:

  • Provide information about activities and programmes and issue receipts of contribution
  • Contact caregivers of young people involved in our activities, and
  • Offer pastoral care
  • Prepare and communicate volunteer rosters and opportunities

Providing some of this information to us is optional. However, if you choose not to provide contact information, we will be unable to contact you or provide pastoral care. This may also affect a person’s eligibility to volunteer in RCC programmes. Without caregiver contact information and consent, we may not be able to allow young people to participate in our activities.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. Riccarton Community Church [RCC] is committed to the prevention of child abuse and to the protection of children.

RCC is committed to supporting and empowering families to act to keep children safe and will themselves ensure that when making any decision affecting a child, the welfare and best interests of the child will be the prime consideration.
