Phil Stedman

Pastor

Phil has been attending Riccarton Community Church since birth, with the exception of two five-year periods working in Wellington and Sydney. Phil and Cath have three children: William, Luke and Isabelle. Phil worked as a civil engineer for eight years and then, after completing post-graduate business studies, worked in the areas of organizational improvement and strategic planning. He has been involved in setting up and running community ministries and believes in, and is passionate about, the importance of the local church. He has been serving as pastor since late 2005. Associate Pastor

Originally from Nelson, Mark's story includes lots of random jobs, time spent at summer camp in the USA, and study at Lincoln and Otago Uni's and Laidlaw College before joining the RCC team in 2005.He and Denise (from Victoria) met and married in Hamilton, where she was working for AgResearch as a social researcher, (currently working part-time based at their Lincoln site.) Mark works part-time as Associate Pastor, focusing on youth and faith development, and he and Denise (and daughter Daisy) enjoy working as a team encouraging young people, helping them to realise who God says they are, and releasing them to do great things.

Worship Coordinator

Denise works part-time in RCC Music, training, mentoring, networking and directing the RCC worship ministry. She is also a key leader in RCC Connect and MyTime@10.

 Matt Meek

Youth Pastor

Matt is responsible for our Intermediate and High School ministries. He is also a key member of the Affinity Trust team as a youth worker at Wharenui Primary School and the Unleashed Co-ordinator. Matt has grown up in Christchurch attending Oxford Tce Baptist Church, moving to RCC in 2009. He first got involved in ministry through CDN’s kids camps as a teenager where he developed a passion for outreach and young people. Matt’s vision is to see all of God’s people released into their God given potential - Unleashed to be all they can be!. Matt attended Middleton Grange  school and then studied Human Resource Development at Canterbury University part time while working for Affinity. He completed his studies in 2010 and came onto staff at Riccarton during 2011. Matt married Morgan at the start of 2015. Matt’s other great passion is sport. He has played top level cricket as well as dabbling in most other ball sports as a child. These days he likes to blend his two passions by playing socially with mates as well as coaching young people. Matt is enjoying working as part of the 24/7 team at Christchurch Boys High School, this is a partnership between Riccarton Community Church and St Barnabas.

  

  

Christy Parry -Jennings

Children and Cell Group's Pastor

 

Christy also heads up Affinity Trust, which includes working with the children and families at Wharenui School and running programmes like Unleashed Kids Club.

Born in the Waikato and growing up on a farm, she moved to the South Island when she was 10. In 2002 Christy became a Christian and attended a 6 month Discipleship parjon for webTraining School in Fiji. She worked as a Nanny before joining Affinity in 2005. Christy has been in Children’s ministry at RCC for 11 years. She is currently studying part time at Vision College, working towards a diploma in Ministry.

She is married to Jonny, who is a videographer for his own business, PJ Productions. They have two dogs and enjoy playing tennis and board games, watching movies and going out for coffee.

 

 

 

 

 Nicky Ewing

Pastoral Care Coordinator

Nicky has been attending RCC since she first became a Christian in her early 20’s.  She works part time at RCC as Pastoral Care coordinator. She is married to Carey who is a social worker for Pathway Charitable Group and has three children Mya, Pippa and Willow.  Nicky trained and taught as a primary school teacher before having a family. In 2014 she studied at Vision College and completed a Diploma in Leadership.  She enjoys challenging herself and has managed to plod her way through a couple of half marathons and one full marathon. ewicar web
 

Auriole Cattermole

Church Administrator 

 Born in Invercargill, Auriole has lived her adult life in Christchurch, apart from 14 months exploring the UK and Europe in 2008. She, and her husband Wal, have 2 children, Josh and Abby. Josh and his wife Aimee have enriched Auriole & Wal's lives with two much loved baby granddaughters, Paityn and Londyn. She and Wal spent two years at Bible College before Wal worked as a Youth Pastor for 5 years. Originally a hairdresser, Auriole also worked as an Activities Coordinator before God called her into church administration in the late 1990s. Auriole has been involved in a wide variety of ministries, and at RCC has been in prayer ministry,  and running Alpha. Her vision is to see all the people of Riccarton have a vibrant relationship with Christ.catwal for web
