RCC Vision Statement

RCC Internships

Are you looking for a different challenge next year - to expand your horizons or clarify what God is calling you to do? The RCC Internship is a great opportunity to study, serve, and be developed as a leader. You will come away with a Diploma in Ministry from Vision College; new skills, experience and confidence; and a clearer pathway forward into your passion and calling.

Using the framework of Vision College’s Diploma in Ministry (NZQA level 5) , we are able to provide a widely recognised qualification, delivered via block courses and distance learning. The course is full-time and includes credit for practical hours.

Practical experience

15 hours of practical work each week of term allows the intern to get to grips with ministry and service at RCC. They build skills in areas of individual calling as well as exploring other ministries by choosing a major and several minor areas, plus they have opportunity to engage with current projects and events at RCC.

Leadership input

One of the benefits of the internship course is dedicated time meeting with and working alongside RCC Staff and Elders, gleaning from their experience, making connections and being spurred on into the calling God has for each individual.

Major options:

Your major sets the emphasis for your year, with roughly a day a week spent on your major area:

Selected from-

Children/ Youth               Pastoral               Community        Administration

Other majors may become available in the future.

Minor options:

Choosing four of the minor areas enables each intern to experience the breadth of RCC’s vision and activity. Minors represent 35-40 hours of internship time, for example a half day a week for a term.

Selected from-

Children/ Youth               Pastoral               Community        Administration                 Missions

Application Process:

Applications for 2019 internships are due 3 December, 2018.

We ask that prospective students complete a personal summary of their current competencies, experience and interests, and a letter expressing interest in the internship. An interview with some of the leadership team will be part of the process, as will the application to the Vision College Diploma in Ministry. Once this is all go, we can start negotiating majors, minors and any special interest area you may have.
